Kidderminster Male Choir
with Choirs from Meadows First School & St John's CofE Middle School Academy
Saturday 15th November
One of Britain's oldest and most respected male voice choirs, which celebrates it's 110th Anniversary this year.
The choir as we know it was started in 1904 by members of a Kidderminster Church Glee Club founded in the 1890's, but its earliest roots go back at least as far as the Orpheus Singers of 1878. In the late 1940's and 1950's K.M.C. regularly starred in the B.B.C. Light Programme's live weekly broadcast "The More We Are Together".
Up to 2003 the choir was an active competition choir. Since then there has been an emphasis on raising money for national and local charities, examples being Help For Heroes and The British Heart Foundation.
After hearing both schools at a previous concert they personally requested that they wanted to do the concert with Meadows and St John's Schools.
