From time to time we all need help.
Sometimes it's the little things and sometimes the larger ones.
Within St John's we have a team who can pray for you.
At the back of the church, you should find a small slip, fill it out and put it in the Prayer Request Box and memebers of the congregation will pray for you.
Alternatively you can now use our new Prayer Centre.
Why Pray? When we're in trouble we turn to friends and family, but more often we put our heads down and try to get on with it.
But, how much of our lives do we miss while our heads are buried?
How many other things have piled up when we weren't looking?
The trick is not to bury you head.
Ackowledge all your problems and offer them up to god in prayer.
Prayer is a way for us to connect to God and talk to someone who can help.
Prayer helps us lay all our problems out, even the ones we can't share
But remember, prayer is not the last refuge, it's the first step forward.
How to PrayFor people who don't regularly attend church, prayer can be something they are unsure of.
If you want to pray; give yourself time(30s is not enough), sit quietly, clear your mind and start with:
Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name.
Your Kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as in heaven
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who sin against us.
Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours.
Now and for ever.
When you feel ready, talk as if there's someone in the next chair, because there is.
