Bangers and Beethoven!
A marathon performance of Beethoven’s 10 violin sonatas
On Bonfire Night afternoon – Saturday 5th November 2011

Between 1797 and 1812 Beethoven produced 10 sonatas for piano and violin. These marvelous works are rarely if ever performed all together!! So, Charlotte and Alastair have decided to undertake this marathon to raise money towards the costs of reinstating the heating in St John’s Church.
The concert will feature:
Set 1: 1.30pm – 2.45pm: Sonatas 1-4 interval
Set 2: 3.15pm – 4.45pm: Sonatas 6,7,8 and 10 interval
Set 3: 5.15pm – 6.30pm: Sonatas 5 “Spring” and 9 “The Kreutzer”
Tea and cakes will be served in the intervals
During Sets 1 and 2 Leonie Marklew-Barrett will be working on art work inspired by the music and the Church and you will be free to wander around the Church QUIETLY(!!), listening to the music and watching her inspirational work.
You are kindly asked to make a donation to the Heating fund during Sets 1 and 2.
Set 3 will be by ticket only, priced at £5 with accompanied children admitted free, to include a free hot dog (banger!!) and a glass of mulled wine.
Following that you can then cross the road to watch the magnificent Bromsgrove Fireworks Display, or stay with us at the Church and watch the event whilst enjoying more hot dogs and mulled wine.
