babiesandtoddlers'Come and join us every Friday in St  John's Church Hall from 9.30am to 11am for fun and chat, tea and toast,  squash and biscuits, songs and toys - and a chance to relax and talk to  other mums, dads, grandparents and minders!'

Choir

If you enjoy singing and would like to join us then come along to one of our practices. There are no auditions, but plenty of opportunities to learn and develop your singing skills

We practise on Friday evening:
18:45-19:45 (juniors)
19:15-20:30 (adults)

Services

The choir normally sings on three Sunday mornings a month at 10:45, with rehearsals at 10:10.

There is also Choral Evensong on the first Sunday of the month at 18:00 with a rehearsal beforehand at 17:15

Youth Fellowship

St John's Youth Fellowship meets on a Sunday afternoon, twice a month at the Vicarage from 5pm - 6.30pm.

Each evening has at least 2 leaders, all of which have had appropriate checks.

 

We are a Church led youth group and we remain open to everyone, who is 12-18-year-olds. You do not have to be a Christian or a church goer to attend.

The Youth Fellowship explores together what it means to be a Christian today, as well as having socials and being involved in some of the special services that the church holds. We recently completed a Youth Alpha.

Bell Ringers

There are ten bells at St. Johns.

The team of bell ringers here are an all-age friendly and welcoming team.
They range from absolute beginners to more experienced peal and quarter-peal ringers. They practice on Thursday evenings from 7.45 pm until 9.15 pm and also ring for weddings. They meet at 10 a.m. on a Sunday morning to ring for 45 minutes before the 10.45 a.m. Sunday service. Outings are arranged to other towers during the year.

Sunday School

St John's Sunday school welcomes all children and Young People to join us.   

The Sunday school meets weekly at 10.45am in the Church on the 1st and 4th Sunday of the month. The Children begin their Sunday school session with the congregation in the Church and then make a brief trip to the Church Hall located in the Church grounds, later returning to church to join the congregation.

Our team of volunteers are have DBS clearance and follow the Safeguarding Policy of the church.

Young people engage with the Bible reading set for the day in a variety of ways including story telling and arts and crafts. They also do games and outdoor activities in the Church grounds are lots of fun for the children. We also host a number of social events for all the family.

The services where there is no Sunday School are designed to be for all ages.
